Melanie Brenae, Co-Director/Producer/Production Designer

Melanie Brenae is an NYC based actress who decided to take a step behind the camera for her directorial debut, Man vs. Vibrator. While new to this side of the camera, she has often annoyed her family with her documentary-style intrusions and she thinks mostly in pictures anyways so it makes sense. A nomadic childhood gave her the curiosity and desire to tell stories - She’s interested in using the various facets of form (light shadow edits music tone texture movement words) as a way to reach beyond the limits of individual experience and feel the reality of another as a shared experience.

Kory Louko, Co-Director/Writer/Producer

Kory Louko is a New York based writer and comedian. She’s from a small farm town in Massachusetts that is adjacent to a town with the smartest lesbians in the US. She packed up her flannels from both groups and moved to NYC to pursue a career in comedy. Her recent credits include her directorial debut with Man vs. Vibrator and surviving multiple open mic performances where men talk about pregnancy as a way to punish their wives…(I wish I were kidding). She graduated from Barnard College with a degree in English and Film Studies and currently writes, performs stand-up and works as the Post-Baccalaureate Fellow for the Athena Film Festival.

Anita Raswant, Assistant Director/Cereal Wrangler

Anita Raswant has been wrangling cereal since the early 90s, but this was her first time on set - and you never forget your first. After several years of producing and managing events and film festivals, she thought it was time to get behind the scenes and see what all the fuss is about. Quite a lot apparently! She had a great time sweating it out on set with the cast and crew. She thanks Kory for thinking of her - it was a great experience! The only weird part was writing about herself in the third person.

Emilia Selyukova is interested in creating new work that is unconventional and grounded in honesty, while working with as many badasses as she can along the way. She has previously worked with Speck of Light Productions’ premier production of This Wide Night by Chloe Moss, original dance-theater pieces with The Neo-Political Cowgirls, as well as Cynthia von Buhler’s productions of Speakeasy Dollhouse and Illuminati Ball, all in hopes of one day having her own theater company that produces good work that makes you feel big things.
